Every day we hear about advances in medicine… successful trials to cure diseases, technology to restore sight, hearing or regenerate spinal nerves…. and the message is that there is always hope. But, when does hope hold us back? Is it a double-edged sword that can prevent us from accepting the lives we have?

But, when does hope hold us back? Is it a double-edged sword that can prevent us from accepting the lives we have? Today we’ll discuss the life-altering topic of hope and acceptance. Can they co-exist, or are they mutually exclusive? We’ll talk about the tools we can develop to help us get the most from both hope and acceptance. Our guest is Dr. Barbara Wingate, and, we’ll hear from a recent recipient of what’s known as the bionic eye.
