We are just two weeks shy of our annual dosage of holiday stress. Just the thought of it may make our pulses race, give us feelings of anxiety and make us short tempered. For so many the holidays are a season filled with expectations. Expectations not only of ourselves but of our family and friends.
FamilyAffaires.com Contributor Dr. Dan Gottlieb explains how expectations cause suffering. Dr. Dan defines stress as wanting or needing the moment your are in to be different. Think about the holidays. Many are wanting their families to be different or their experiences to be different.
If we learn to BE in the moment we could reduce much of our stress. Dr. Dan is challenging all of us to go into this holiday season to take a risk by being open to possibilities and by removing all expectations of ourselves and others. Can you do it?
